Job Description

Our Bartenders take pride in their food, wine, and spirit knowledge. They build relationships with their guests and are often asked for by name. They display natural showmanship, have great communication skills, and an eye for detail. A Bartender receives beverage orders and makes beverages in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining all O&B standards. They also communicate beverage descriptions and modifications with team members to ensure guests receive their requested beverage.

THE DAY to DAY :

  1. You’re a pro at first impressions and welcome each guest warmly and with enthusiasm.
  2. You’re aware of your surroundings and offer a helping hand to all guests whenever needed.
  3. You’re enthusiastic about our offerings and share your menu knowledge in order to make the best recommendations.
  4. You have a strong working knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer and love sharing fun facts about our offerings.
  5. You’re a fun time! Guests want to come back and sit at your bar time and time again.
  6. You value accuracy and organization when it comes to maintaining guest tabs, ordering food, and pre-setting guests up before food arrives.
  7. You love to go above and beyond for special requests or celebrations and take food preferences and guest allergies seriously.
  8. You’re a team player and respectfully communicate with all other staff and managers to ensure smooth service.
  9. You’re able to move around the restaurant with focused urgency.
  10. You take ownership of your bar and check and maintain beer keg and liquor levels, take inventory, and assist the manager with inventory ordering.
  11. Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  1. SmartServe Certified.
  2. Proven experience as a bartender for at least 6 months.
  3. Enrolled or completed a Hospitality, Food & Beverage and/or Special Events Program is an asset.
  4. Wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge is required.
  5. WSET preferred but not required.
  6. Passion for food, beverage, and providing excellent customer service.
  7. Ability to multi-task.
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to stand for long periods of time and able to lift and move beer kegs, liquor, and wine boxes.
