Bakery department manager

Overview

To be responsible for the effective operation of the Bakery Department by maximizing sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met. Passion and commitment to customer service is a key driver for our Company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
2. Overseeing the effective ordering, production, merchandising of all bakery products and ensuring attractive displays to maintain and increase sales.
3. Planning daily production sheets to ensure variety in bakery products, and effectively prioritizing and organizing all production and department functions.
4. Effectively controlling inventory through pricing and signage of bakery products to achieve company goals and budget to maximize sales and profits.
5. Scheduling, directing, supervising, and disciplining department staff and training all new employees.
6. Being responsible for the opening and/or closing functions of the department.
7. Ensuring the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the production and back room areas, as per Company Policy.
8. Responding to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
9. Performing other duties, as required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

1. Exceptional customer service skills.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified baker/decorator, preferably in a retail environment.
3. Previous managerial experience and knowledge of production schedules is a definite asset.
4. Flexibility to work a variety of hours which include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
