Job description

At Rayah, we celebrate French-Moroccan culture through traditional Moroccan recipes and French bistro classics with a twist. We're open daily for brunch, dinner, and everything in between.
We make everything in-house—from merguez and couscous to pastries—using quality ingredients in a well-equipped kitchen.
We’re hiring a Baker who loves great food, works well with others, and takes pride in doing things right. If that sounds like you, let’s talk!


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Embody Rayah’s Values: Good Vibes, Care, and Going the Extra Mile—every day.
  2. Cook with Care: Bake travel cakes, prepare and laminate dough for our croissants according to our recipes standards and processes. Follow the portion sizes and measurements of the provided recipe cards.
  3. Keep It Clean: Maintain a tidy workstation and help clean the kitchen before and after each service.
  4. Stay Safe: Follow hygiene and safety protocols, including proper food labeling, storage, and use-by dates.
  5. Set the Tone: Lead with positive energy and keep the team motivated and focused.
  6. Train with Intention: Welcome and guide new team members with clarity and care.
  7. Stay on Top of Inventory: Monitor supplies and coordinate with the Director—no last-minute scrambles.
  8. Support Scheduling: Help build balanced schedules that keep the kitchen running smoothly.

IMPORTANT:

Must be comfortable with digital tools (Google Suite, especially Sheets, Slack, etc.)


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position with lamination experience.
  2. Licence/Certification: Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or equivalent (required).
  3. Soft Skills: Ability to manage the challenges of a bakery lab in its ramp-up phase. Solution-oriented, with good vibes and team spirit.
  4. Language: French is a plus.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  1. Salary: $19 to $21 per hour (according to profile) + tips.
  2. Meals: Discounted or free food during your shifts.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  1. Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week with 8-hour shifts (including lunch break).
  2. Part-time available too.

FLEXIBILITY:

  1. Restaurant and Café open Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 11 pm.
  2. Day Shifts, Evening shifts, Overtime available.
