Bagroom Supervisor
Job description
Responsibilities
- Manage daily allocation of manpower in the bagrooms to ensure smooth operation.
- Assign GSE to bagroom drivers and ensure proper charging.
- Coach and mentor employees, while enforcing Company policies and procedures.
- Write daily shift notes, record agent conversations related to any work-related incidents.
- Investigate and report any missed bags.
- Collaborate with our airline partners on anything baggage-related.
- Ensure Pre-Operational Inspections for all equipment used during the shift are completed.
- Enforce safety policy compliance and proper PPE in the bag room.
- Review assigned ULDs, and complete uplift requests as required.
- Conduct quality inspections.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the operation in the bagroom.
- Responsible for ensuring direction is provided with challenges impacting baggage, baggage scanning, NCB, AVI, USCBP recalls, CBSA recalls, Missed Baggage Ratio.
- Participate in staff briefings with the bagroom teams at the start of every shift, outlining any challenges and opportunities.
- Communicate operational performance feedback to the airline's management team and provide solutions to facilitate effective solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A minimum of one year of airline operations experience is preferred.
- Experience in ground operations is an asset.
- Recognize and action challenges that may arise promptly and efficiently.
- Must hold or successfully receive a Restricted Area Pass and AVOP.
- Must be able to communicate by radio, telephone, etc.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
