Position: AWS Cloud Administrator

Primary Location: Toronto, ON

Schedule: FT, Salaried

Reports To: IT Manager

Compensation: CAD 120,000 - CAD 130,000 + bonus + benefits.

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

About This Role

The AWS Cloud Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, and cloud security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
  • Work with internal/external teams on assessing requirements for and deploying 3rd party applications and services within the cloud environment.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain infrastructure as code repositories and documentation.
  • Enhance security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Perform root cause analysis on cloud service outages.
  • Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of proven experience as an AWS Cloud Administrator or similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows Servers.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Linux Servers.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certification (Professional level preferred).
  • AWS Developer Certification (Associate).
  • AWS Sysops Certification (Associate).
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and others.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
