About the Role

Provides day-to-day technical oversight for the audio-visual equipment and systems activities located in centrally supported spaces (e.g., learning and teaching spaces), meeting rooms, and other areas on campus by acting as the first point of contact between clients (e.g., faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, students, staff, and external clients) and IT Client Services. Troubleshoots and maintains audio-visual equipment and systems and assists in the coordination of system upgrades in theatres, classrooms and other campus spaces. Acts as a specialist in web and audio/video conferencing services.

Qualifications

High school graduation and two years of post-secondary education in computing and/or audio-visual technology. Certified Technology Specialist. 2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

  • Industry standard certification such as CTS or Crestron DMC-E-4K.
  • Good knowledge of computers, networking, operating systems (Windows/OSX/Linux), and peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to resolve routine software problems.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repair of audio-visual equipment and computer systems hardware.
  • Excellent knowledge of common software applications for web browsing, office productivity, email, and video conferencing.
  • Good knowledge of room control systems (e.g., Crestron or equivalent) and audio systems (e.g., BSS, BiAmp).
  • Good knowledge of desktop management tools, such as Active Directory, for deployment and configuration management.
