Automotive Service Technician Apprentice

Responsibilities

  1. Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements.
  2. Work closely with existing licensed Automotive Service Technician for guidance and mentorship.
  3. Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose.
  4. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  5. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
  6. Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups.
  7. Inspect and test mechanical components, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults, possible defects and malfunctions.
  8. Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with licensed Automotive Service Technician to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  9. Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
  10. Consistently able to work independently.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum completion of 2nd year 310S apprenticeship
  2. Previous experience in automotive repairs and service
  3. Previous experience with tires (installation and repairs)
  4. Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
  5. Strong communication skills
