Job Summary
The Licensed Service Technician is integral in ensuring every DAG service guest receives an exceptional Guest Experience. You serve as a senior member of the team, setting an example for your colleagues and ensuring each vehicle is diagnosed, serviced and repaired correctly and promptly, aligning with DAG's standard of excellence, embodying a “fix it right the first time” attitude.

Duties:

  1. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  2. Discuss work with supervisor
  3. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  4. Inspect motor in operation
  5. Review work orders
  6. Road test motor vehicles
  7. Test automotive systems and components
  8. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  9. Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  10. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  11. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  12. Perform scheduled maintenance service
  13. Test and adjust units to specifications
  14. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  15. Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  16. Provide customer service

Tasks:

  1. Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
  2. Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
  3. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  4. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  5. Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
  6. Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements
  7. Other duties as assigned and in the best interest of the dealership

Job Requirements:

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Location: Toronto, ON, M4M 2A5

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Secondary School (required)
  • Experience: automotive service technician: 1 year (required)
  • Licence/Certification: Trade certification for automotive service technicians (required)
