About the Role:
As a Licensed Diesel Truck and Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and installations according to Ford’s high-quality and time standards. Your role will cover a range of automotive services, from drivability and suspensions to diesel and exhaust systems, all while ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs on Ford trucks (F-250 up to F-750, E-350, Transit Van) and fleet vehicles, handling diesel and truck systems with diagnostic precision
- Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure they meet quality standards
- Perform maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake inspections, and more
- Communicate additional recommended work to the Service Advisor or Shop Foreman
- Collaborate with the Parts Department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs
- Maintain cleanliness of both the customer’s vehicle and the Quick Lane Department
- Follow all safety regulations and handle hazardous waste according to standards
- Stay updated on the latest technical services, tools, and safety training (e.g., WHMIS)
- Assist other technicians and apprentices and adapt quickly to changing tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong customer service skills and professionalism in all interactions
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple overlapping tasks with composure
- Diagnostic skills with Ford-provided technical assistance tools (e.g., Technical Hotline, OASIS, IDS)
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude, team spirit, and a drive to succeed
Education & Experience:
- College diploma in an automotive program required
- Provincially licensed as an Automotive Service Technician by the Ontario College of Trades
- Valid G Class Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Minimum two years’ experience in automotive diagnostics and repair, specifically in diesel and truck systems (preferred)
Special Conditions:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds
- Familiarity with hand and power tools consistent with industry standards
