Automation & Mechatronics Specialist ($45 to $55 per hour)

Join a stable, Canadian-owned company specializing in marine control and monitoring systems. Our client in Burnaby is seeking an experienced Automation & Mechatronics Specialist to contribute to their continued success.

About the Role:

You’ll be integral in PLC and embedded systems integration, programming, and HMI creation. This role involves assembly, testing, field service, troubleshooting, and repairs. Expect occasional travel for field service, requiring hands-on work to ensure project completion. You'll also create technical documentation, communicate with clients and regulatory bodies, and collaborate with various internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

1. PLC programming and HMI experience (Opto22 or Siemens S7-1200 a plus).
2. Embedded systems/DSP programming knowledge (C environment).
3. Mechatronics Technologist/Engineer certification or equivalent experience.
4. Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
5. Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
6. Familiarity with digital and analog circuits.
7. Mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency.
8. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
