We have an excellent opportunity in our Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) Auto claims team. We are actively recruiting for a Commercial Auto Claims Specialist based out of our Oakville Centre of excellence.

GCS is an exciting and fast-growing area within Aviva where you will manage Auto physical damage claims for Aviva’s largest corporate and program business customers. We’re looking for someone with Auto claims handling experience that truly embodies a client-centered approach to claims handling and problem-solving.

What you’ll do:

  1. You will champion the GCS brand by supporting and delivering against our Claims Value proposition which delivers dedicated, tailored claim service to Aviva Canada’s largest commercial Auto risks and programs.
  2. Handle Commercial Auto Claims across Canada (excluding Quebec) on fleet rated, individually rated, Garage Auto, Non-Owned Auto policies.
  3. Deliver a best-in-class claims experience by guiding customers through the claims process by clearly explaining their coverage and the steps required to bring their claim to a timely resolution.
  4. Deliver against customer-specific service level agreements captured within account-specific claims handling procedures (opportunity to become dedicated adjusters to key accounts).
  5. Set clear expectations with internal and external customers (Brokers & Clients) at the outset.
  6. Contribute and deliver best in class Indemnity and Expense management by promoting and explaining the benefits of our Premiere vendor program. Controlling towing & storage with the Early Tow & Appraisal process and other initiatives.
  7. You will resolve claims within your authority levels, recommend settlement and/or seek assistance from additional internal or external stakeholders as necessary.
  8. You will proactively monitor and manage the integrity of data and reserves in accordance with company procedures and policies to ensure adequate financial records.
  9. You will on occasion work with external adjusting providers and ensure vendors and TPA’s adhere to company policies and procedures where necessary.
  10. You will strive to maintain current knowledge of automobile insurance and relevant regulatory and market changes with the guidance and support of your senior leadership team.
  11. Identify and collaborate as a team to improve system conditions that impact the service for our customers, the environment for our people and our financial performance.
  12. Identify opportunities to continuously improve through the removal of waste and failure.
  13. Communicate effectively with confidence, curiosity, courage and in a collaborative manner.
  14. You will be exposed to and work closely with a cross-functional team across GCS, including Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and our Claims Service Managers.
  15. Perform other duties as required to support the overall team and company goals.

What you’ll bring:

  1. CIP or FCIP designation or be actively working towards your designation (C48 an asset).
  2. University degree or College Diploma or equivalent Auto claims experience.
  3. A passion for customer service and continual improvement of the customer experience.
  4. 2+ years of Auto claims handling experience.
  5. Preferred candidate will have commercial Auto experience with proven competency in standard commercial Auto products and endorsements (i.e. Garage Auto Policy, 21B - blanket fleet endorsement).
  6. Exceptional oral and written communication skills that inspire confidence and credibility.
  7. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  8. Experience using claims applications such as ClaimCenter, Mitchell, Five9.
  9. A voice that will constructively challenge, contribute and share towards the betterment of our team, culture and how we work.
  10. French language skills considered an asset.
  11. Provincial Adjusting licenses in NB, NFLD & PEI an asset.
