GeneBio Systems was founded on the strong scientific foundation stemming from our founding team's extensive biotechnological and life science research experience. Our professionals have many years of research and development experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, and life science and laboratory products.

GeneBio is seeking outstanding applicants for a Scientist I, Molecular Biology to support ongoing or new initiatives. This position is located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects to develop, validate, and commercialize technologies and products by setting clear objectives, meeting timelines, and effectively communicating results.
  • Participate in laboratory work as needed, executing experiments to support project goals.
  • Adapt, develop, validate, and perform bioassays in a fast-paced and evolving research environment.
  • Identify and implement new techniques and protocols to advance commercialization objectives.
  • Design and conduct clinical studies, coordinating efforts with internal and external collaborators.
  • Generate high-quality, well-documented data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience is preferred.
  • Strong background in molecular biology or molecular diagnostics is highly desirable.
  • Experience with the development and technical validation of in vitro bioassays is an asset.
  • Familiarity with loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated project management experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in an industry or company setting is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with scientific writing experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate professionally at all levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,284.00-$55,020.00 per year
