Associate Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a mechanical building consulting firm located in the downtown Toronto area and they are looking for a skilled Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The Associate Mechanical Engineer must have previous building consulting experience and a strong understanding of REVIT software. As the new Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will be managing, reviewing, and approving a variety of projects throughout Ontario and the GTA for the design and engineering of building systems for commercial, healthcare, multi-residential, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Successfully carrying out project assignments as directed
2. Managing design/project assignments and assisting with proposals
3. Coordinating a Project Team for a particular assignment or project
4. Developing, adhering to, and tracking the project schedule
5. Overseeing the administration and financials of the assignment/project
6. Preparing the conceptual design of a project, and reviewing the detailed design
7. Performing site investigations and field reviews
8. Attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors
9. Reviewing and/or preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
10. Reviewing and applying knowledge of relevant building codes and standards
11. Reviewing and/or preparing HVAC load calculations, Energy Modelling, and equipment selections
12. Preparing technical specifications and technical reports (feasibility studies, life cycle analysis, etc.)
