Job description

LSP Recruit is partnering with one of the world’s leading investment firms, which manages assets across private equity, credit, and infrastructure. This multi-strategy investment firm is seeking a new Associate to join its infrastructure investment program. With 30 office locations around the globe, the firm’s Toronto office serves as the hub for North American investment opportunities. This highly regarded and dynamic infrastructure program has built a well-diversified global portfolio, managing $19 billion USD in assets.

As an Associate, you will be part of a sophisticated investment team with deep expertise analyzing investments and driving value creation. You will split your time looking at new deals or monitoring assets. You will evaluate infrastructure investment opportunities, with a focus on North America, while also considering global opportunities. Additionally, you will participate in investment execution, monitor asset performance, and serve on boards.

The ideal candidate is someone seeking a long-term career in infrastructure investment and thrives in a dynamic environment where no week is ever the same. The position requires approximately 2 to 4 years of experience with a top-tier investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or direct investments firm.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze a variety of infrastructure investment opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence, including evaluating financial performance, management quality, investment merits and risks, regulatory landscape, and industry dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models to assess opportunities, test assumptions and sensitivities, analyze expected returns, and generate valuation recommendations.
  • Engage with company management teams to assess performance, strategy, outlook, and other relevant factors.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting investment recommendations to internal investment committees.
  • Help identify and implement performance improvement initiatives within portfolio assets.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly investment team meetings.
  • Collaborate with team members across geographies to share insights and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years experience in a direct investing-focused role, or investment banking.
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance - a focus on business, finance or accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in complex financial modeling of businesses, preferably infrastructure-related.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Our client is an equal opportunity employer but candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

We welcome all applications and wish to thank all candidates for their interest in applying for this position. However, only individuals selected for interviews will be contacted.
