Associate Faculty - Computer Programmer & Full Stack Software Development

About the Position:
Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology invites applications from qualified and passionate individuals interested in teaching Computer Programmer & Full Stack Software Development courses on a part-time basis for the School of IT, Liberal Studies & Flexible Education, pending sufficient enrolment. This role is part-time, starting in January 2025. Classes will be held in person at the Lambton College Sarnia campus.

Specific Accountabilities:

  1. Create a positive teaching and learning environment;
  2. Prepare and/or update lesson plans;
  3. Provide innovative course instruction that uses a variety of teaching and assessment methodologies that are in accordance with curriculum standards and direction of the College;
  4. Deliver curriculum in a flexible delivery format;
  5. Prepare, administer, and grade student assessments including detailed feedback;
  6. Monitor student performance, maintain progress reports and facilitate student success;
  7. Communicate with students in a timely manner;
  8. Follow the Academic Calendar and the policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. At minimum a Bachelors Degree in a field related to Computer Studies;
  2. A minimum of 3 years of relevant software development industry experience;
  3. Must possess excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of software development and database management;
  4. Must possess specific experience/certifications with respect to the HTML, CSS, C#, Java, and/or JavaScript (ES6+) programming languages;
  5. Possess knowledge of frameworks including: ASP.NET MVC, Express.js, React.js, Spring;
  6. Prior experience with industry-standard cloud computing platforms or DevOps tools and practices would be a definite asset;
  7. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be considered an asset.
