Associate Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services / MEP

Near Southampton, Hampshire – Hybrid & Flexible Working Arrangements

£65k - £75k + benefits

This building services design role is to join a highly professional friendly team of specialist design engineers delivering innovative and creative solutions. They are a collaborative group who have built a supportive culture where you will quickly feel like part of the team. They are involved in a wide range of projects including schools, office builds, retail, and high spec and high density residential projects, ranging to in excess of £10 million in size.

Projects are all conducted whilst maintaining a focus on sustainable design.

Responsibilities

1. Carrying out the designs for a diverse range of building services.
2. Design from concept to handover, including preparation of drawings, specifications, and all relevant tender documentation.
3. Producing drawings (Layouts, Schematics, & Sections).
4. Producing estimates as required and formulating budgets for projects.
5. Working as part of a team to ensure that coordination is achieved.
6. Reviewing and commenting on information provided by the client and other members of the professional team.
7. Reviewing and commenting on information provided by contractors/sub-contractors.
8. Attending and contributing to design team meetings, client meetings, pre-contract and post-contract meetings.
9. Guiding junior team members.

Experience Required

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced electrical design engineer within building services.

1. Ideally a graduate with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience in electrical building services design.
2. High degree of knowledge of technical issues and ability in electrical engineering within building services.
3. Ability to work independently.
4. Experience within a range of building project types.
