The Role

The Associate Director of Marketing plays a crucial role in developing, managing, and executing a wide range of marketing and communication campaigns for all MCAP brands. This position involves strategic planning and oversight of the digital homeowner journey, coordination of sweepstakes initiatives, and support for sales email projects and campaigns. Additionally, the Associate Director will contribute to subservice marketing efforts and enhance overall digital marketing strategies for MCAP.

In this role, the Associate Director will also be responsible for streamlining marketing operational processes, logistics, and tasks across all brands. This includes overseeing email delivery and deployment through platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, managing marketing automation efforts, and utilizing analytics tools to track performance metrics across web and social media channels. The Associate Director will ensure effective monitoring and reporting of both online and traditional marketing campaigns to drive continuous improvement and maximize impact.

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Assist in the development, enhancement, and implementation of MCAP’s Marketing & Communications strategies.
  • Lead the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, ensuring alignment with business objectives and coordination with different divisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign management, segmentation, and post-campaign analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure campaigns are executed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and adjust campaign strategies based on performance metrics and market trends.

Email Marketing & Automation

  • Oversee the operation of the Marketing Cloud platform for all brands, ensuring smooth data management, deployment, and analytics.
  • Advance the digital marketing experience through process automation and enhanced email journeys.
  • Design, implement, and manage email marketing strategies that nurture leads and engage existing customers.
  • Utilize marketing automation tools to create targeted and personalized email workflows.
  • A/B test email content and design to optimize open and click-through rates.
  • Ensure adherence to email marketing best practices for segmentation, lifecycle campaigns, and dynamic content delivery.
  • Deploy and maintain outbound communication programs that support marketing initiatives, homeowner journeys, and ancillary products.
  • Oversee the use of marketing automation tools to streamline email campaigns and enhance audience engagement.

Homeowner Journey

  • Develop marketing strategies that enhance the homeowner journey, focusing on lead generation and increasing awareness of MCAP brands and services.
  • Present actionable recommendations to improve the homeowner experience based on data insights.
  • Identify opportunities for personalizing the homeowner journey and collaborate with various teams to create necessary data points.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze campaign performance using analytics tools to derive actionable insights.
  • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders that summarize campaign results and recommend optimizations.
  • Utilize data to segment audiences and personalize marketing efforts.

Budget Management

  • Assist in preparing the annual marketing budget, aligning operating costs with future project plans.
  • Manage budget allocations, approving invoices and payments while identifying efficiencies to optimize spending.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.

Digital Marketing Oversight

  • Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, PPC, social media, and content marketing, to drive brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure high-quality, engaging content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Manage and enhance MCAP’s web and social media strategy, ensuring effective presence and engagement across platforms.
  • Analyze and provide insights on website metrics using tools like Google Analytics and Marketing Cloud.
  • Conduct A/B testing on digital campaigns to improve performance and share findings with the team.
  • Coaching the team to focus on ROI and build campaigns with that in mind (ex. Set-up UTM codes to track CTR from a particular email to a specific webpage)
  • Direct the measurement of brand health (SEO, reviews, CSAT, etc.)

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, product development, and customer service teams to align marketing initiatives with overall business strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments to ensure alignment on marketing goals.

Governance

  • Participate in projects and committees to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Collaborate with Legal to ensure marketing activities adhere to regulations and best practices.
  • Establish best practices and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to mitigate risk and improve operational efficiency.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 7-12 years of marketing and communications experience (preferably in financial services)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in marketing operations or automation, specifically overseeing the Marketing Cloud platform
  • Advanced excel and budgeting skills
  • Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns and driving measurable results.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Proficient in marketing automation and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, Alchemer)
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing talent.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Financial industry (mortgage and funding specific)
  • B2C and B2B marketing and communications experience
  • Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and other CRM and email deployment platforms
  • Understanding of digital marketing, including Search Engine Optimization, social media, website building best practices
  • Effective, concise and professional oral and written communication skills
  • Management, oversight, training of staff
  • Oversight and management of complex multimedia campaigns
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and keeping focus on the larger picture and objectives of the organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Analytics and results oriented
  • Proven ability to set and achieve goals, targets and objectives
  • Understanding of marketing related technologies and their integration with marketing automation (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
