Associate Account Executive- Aviation

Aon is hiring an Associate Account Executive to support clients and colleagues in our Aviation Practice.

Note: This role is subject to our SmartWorking policy, which may allow for a hybrid work style.

What the day will look like

Each day is unique in this role. The daily work may look like any combination of tasks, such as:

  • Act as a key member of the Client Service Team, providing primary client contact on routine account management matters.
  • Coordinating client information with Broking teams to initiate the insurance renewal process.
  • Serve as the internal central contact for all aspects of account activity.
  • Under the direction of the Account Executive, service existing client portfolios, attending to routine insurance issues and providing first response to client inquiries.
  • Assist with brokering large and/or complex accounts (working with the Account Executive and Broking Teams to identify coverage requirements, exposures, etc.).
  • Service small to medium insurance accounts in the capacity of an Account Executive and/or Broker.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key insurer partners to enhance placement strategy and market access.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Aviation coverage lines, interpreting policy wordings and advising clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure client electronic files are updated and maintained in accordance with compliance standards. This includes making requests for information directly to clients and handling any subsequent client inquiries.
  • Maintain account receivables.
  • Assist Account Executive with maintaining client service schedule (i.e., prompting renewal meetings, deliverables and renewal timelines, relationship building events, etc.).
  • Analyze client contracts to identify insurance obligations that are not met by existing insurance coverage.
  • Prepare, or assist with the preparation of the internal strategic broking and client renewal strategy agendas.
  • Provide training, guidance, and oversight to junior team members and other colleagues, sharing expertise and ensuring service consistency.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Our ideal candidate will have commercial insurance experience. Aviation insurance experience is preferred, but not required. The candidate will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and will be comfortable interacting with clients, colleagues, and underwriters across all seniority levels.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • 5 years Commercial Insurance experience, preferably with demonstrated commitment to continuous learning.
  • Must hold or be willing to acquire a General Insurance License Level 2.
  • Have good digital literacy and confirmed experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and demonstrated ability to learn quickly, including both self-directed learning and on-the-job training.
  • Post Secondary Education or equivalent years of confirmed experience.
