Full-time Assistant Tree Arborist

We are looking to hire an experienced Arborist Assistant. The position will be full-time (seasonal). Opportunity for advancement within a growing small local business. Candidates must be able to work from April until the end of the hedge season (early December). This position is not suited for students with only summer availability.

Qualifications

You will need to be a confident and professional leader, as the operator will be responsible for their job site and anyone (laborer) working alongside them. All job-specific training such as Working at Heights, WHMIS, Health and Safety Awareness training, and more will be provided by the employer.

Job Duties

1. Be very comfortable on ladders of varying heights
2. Be punctual
3. A valid G license, with clean driver's abstract
4. Complete all necessary health and safety training and orientation programs annually or otherwise outlined by Barn Owl Tree Services
5. Operation and light maintenance of chainsaws, stump grinders, woodchippers, forestry trucks, trailers, etc.
6. Basic carpentry skills are an asset

Compensation

Extended health care and dental benefits after a 3-month probationary period.

Paid training courses.

Hourly Rate: $25 - $30.
