Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil) to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer and Project Manager deliver civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Assist the Engineer with regards to assigned duties during the construction of the Works.
2. Monitor, observe and inspect the contractor's construction activities.
3. Issue orders/direction to the Contractor to correct any activities, work, materials and/or equipment which are not in compliance with the Contract.
4. Direct, assist, monitor and manage the performance of the construction supervision team working on the construction of the works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.
5. Provide assistance, information and advice to the Employer regarding the issuance of variations and adjustments to the settlement of the Contractor's accounts.
6. Advise on construction matters regarding roadworks and associated works, utility diversions and installations, traffic diversions, road furniture, landscape and other related works.
7. Review all fabrication/shop/working/as-built drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submissions, any requests for information relating to the roadworks and associated works.
8. Maintain a daily diary and daily reports by subordinates.
9. Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the works.
10. Check and measure the performed work and record/report on actual vs. planned progress.
11. Coordinate with Parsons' design Engineers for resolution of related issues.
12. Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from a reputable university.
2. Minimum 12 years post graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major roads and infrastructure projects of complex nature.
3. Ability to review and justify the material submissions analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring compliance with the project's Specifications.
4. Proactive and problem-solving personality.
5. Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Abu Dhabi/UAE/GCC experience.
