We’re hiring for an Assistant Regional Financial Coordinator (ARFC) to enhance the quality of budgeting and forecasting services and strengthen the systems and services of DCS. In this role, you will provide expertise and support to the Finance Manager.
As the ARFC, you will support the work of the department through financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. A few of your key responsibilities will include:
You have a Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce degree and have at least three (3) years of related experience.
Enrollment in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) program, along with knowledge of the corporate financial management system (SAP), Cognos Enterprise, Tableau, or similar applications are highly desirable.
Furthermore, you use discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information and can work in a fast-paced environment; assessing and prioritizing work to ensure all deadlines are met by the department. You maintain a high level of knowledge of financial systems, technological and analytical tools, and standards or benchmarks for excellence.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Most of your work is within a comfortable office-based environment.
This role requires repetitive tasks on a regular basis; a high level of visual and mental concentration; and contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies and Institutions.
Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
This is a TERM employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of March 24, 2026. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
Your worksite location is flexible. OSD has offices across the province which you can view here. Our Head office is in Halifax, and it is expected that you will travel regularly to Halifax as well as to regional offices. Your worksite location will be determined at the offer negotiation stage.
Pay Grade: EC 08
Salary Range: $2,518.36- $3,147.95 Bi-Weekly
