Opportunity

The Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Supply Chain Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2025, subject to final budgetary approval. We are seeking candidates with expertise in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field.

The successful applicant will be part of our faculty team in supply chain and operations management, a growing area within our school. The Department of Decision Sciences is an interdisciplinary department with faculty members that specialize in quantitative research methods, supply chain management, operations research, economics, insurance and risk management, data analytics, and decision research. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the Department’s focus on excellence in undergraduate teaching and in conducting high-impact research.

You must demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and to conducting high-impact research. You will teach existing undergraduate courses in supply chain management and help develop additional courses in this area. Your primary area of research can be aligned with supply chain management or a closely related field. As a faculty member in the discipline, you are expected to be active in building and fostering industry relations and in promoting the student co-op program within Alberta and beyond.

You must hold a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field. You should provide evidence of an ongoing research stream in supply chain management or a closely related field such as supply chain analytics, logistics, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology. Candidates with professional/industry experience in supply chain management, especially in logistics management and procurement in the Canadian context will be highly desirable.

You will submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including your teaching philosophy and recent teaching evaluations), statement of research interests, and a sample of your research work.
