The School of Computing is located within the Faculty of Business and Computing and includes programs in the areas of Computing Science and Computer Information Systems. Program delivery includes both online and face-to-face format. We place high priority on student involvement in research and scholarly activities, and we encourage the creation of opportunities for experiential learning.
The School of Computing invites applications for multiple tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the areas of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems.

We seek applicants who share our passion for and commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a student-centered environment; who successfully integrate their scholarship into their teaching, to contribute to the realization of the goals of the School, the Faculty, and the Institution.
Applicants must have exceptional communication and teaching skills; evidence of excellence in teaching in their core area at the undergraduate or graduate level; and the ability to develop experiential and applied research opportunities for students. An ability to teach across traditional disciplinary boundaries or deliver courses in community settings would be an asset.
The successful applicants will have a demonstrated excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level and possess strong communication, leadership, and administrative skills. The successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to incorporate or reflect Indigenous perspectives or ways of teaching and learning into their curriculum.
As a teaching-oriented institution and school, we are seeking collegial, energetic, and innovative individuals who have successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level and who communicate effectively with students both in and out of the classroom.
Experience and interest in developing experiential learning opportunities, including internships, study abroad, and co-curricular activities is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience in technology-supported teaching (e.g., hybrid, online, experiential, and computer-assisted learning) would be an asset. The successful candidates will show aptitude for working in team situations and an interest in innovative inter-disciplinary teaching.
Applicants will have a demonstrable record of recent scholarship and/or publications in top-tier venues in their field and be able to integrate their research into experiential learning opportunities for students. The successful applicants will have a track record or potential of obtaining external funding and of developing innovative and internationally recognized research programs.
The successful applicants will be expected to actively participate in school activities, service, events, and initiatives. A commitment to an ongoing program of professional development is required.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrable ability to collaborate/interact effectively with external bodies or agencies. We particularly encourage applications from Indigenous scholars or teachers or researchers with experience of racialization or colonization.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science or related fields from a well-recognized university. All candidates will also have a bachelor or master's level credential in Computer Science or equivalent. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level at comparable institutions is also required. Flexibility, industry expertise, currency in topic area, and evidence of scholarly activities are also required.
Candidates should submit a cover letter (explicitly addressing immigration status in Canada); curriculum vitae; evidence of teaching excellence, including some student evaluations for the past teaching experience(s), and statements of teaching philosophy, research, EDI, and Indigenization plus examples of innovative approaches to teaching and course design if available. Candidates must provide a list of referees prior to interview, and three letters of reference will be required prior to offer. Additionally, one of the reference letters must be provided by the candidate’s most recent supervisor. Incomplete application packages will not be considered.
