The Department of Management and Organizations in MacEwan School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, in Management with a specialization in Human Resources Management, commencing July 1, 2025, subject to final budgetary approval.
The Department of Management and Organizations has 17 full-time faculty and offers Human Resources Management and Management majors, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Property Management minors, in addition to Honours Designation in the Bachelor of Commerce. In this role, you will teach a variety of undergraduate HR courses, pursue academic and/or community-based scholarship, and work collaboratively to contribute service to the operation of the University.
You will have expertise in teaching in areas that include but are not limited to introductory and advanced courses in Human Resources Management (e.g., Introduction to HRM, Employee Relations, Compensation, Learning and Development, Analytics and Program Evaluation), with an opportunity to develop and recommend potential electives. Pedagogical innovation is highly appreciated, which could include experiential learning, community-engaged learning, multidisciplinary teams, and technology-enhanced learning. You must demonstrate evidence of a research record and a developed research plan. A professional Human Resources (HR) designation (CPHR, SHRM) and professional experience in the field of HR or a related field is beneficial.
You will hold or be near the completion of a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management (HRM), with evidence of outstanding teaching ability and a demonstrated primary commitment to undergraduate teaching. You will demonstrate an ongoing program of academic research in HRM or a related field.
