The Faculty of Education at Concordia University of Edmonton invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Inclusive Education. We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking educator-scholar whose teaching, research, and professional engagement center on creating responsive, inclusive, and equitable K–6 learning environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in inclusive pedagogy, differentiated instruction, early literacy, and the design and delivery of curriculum that meets the diverse needs of learners in early years and elementary classrooms. A strong commitment to collaboration with schools and communities and advancing inclusive practices in teacher preparation education is essential.

This position’s start date is negotiable with a preference for July 1, 2025.
Qualifications- A completed terminal degree in Education, with a specialization in Inclusive Education, Literacy, preferred.
- A minimum of three years of successful K–6 teaching experience in inclusive settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and planning for diverse learning needs.
- A commitment to reconciliation and to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teacher education.
- A record of scholarly activity.
- Experience in serving the educational needs of First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities is considered an asset.
- Eligibility for Alberta teacher certification is considered an asset.
- Experience with assistive / adaptive technology also an asset.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate courses in inclusive education, early literacy, and curriculum planning for K–6 learners.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Bachelor of Education (After Degree), education minors and Master of Education programs.
- Support teacher candidates in developing responsive and equitable classroom practices.
- Maintain an active research and scholarship agenda related to inclusive pedagogy, literacy instruction, and differentiated curriculum design.
- Participate in faculty governance, academic advising, and service to the university community.
The normal teaching assignment is 18 hours per academic year. In addition, the successful candidate must assume academic service duties and will be committed to growing the diversity of and building professional relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience as per Concordia’s Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
