Summary:

Supports the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the (MDES) including steam, chilled water, low temperature hot water systems, and distribution piping networks.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive client-focused work environment.
  • Prioritize safety through field presence, coaching, and training.
  • Assume duties of the Chief Operating Engineer during absences.
  • Assist with compliance of applicable legislation, regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Work with staff and customers to develop efficiencies and strategies.
  • Coordinate shutdowns for maintenance.
  • Maintain inspection, testing, and performance records.
  • Review and update operating documents and drawings.
  • Manage accuracy of equipment labeling and correlation to CMMS.
  • Maintain and update testing and inventory of safety equipment.
  • Participate in the evaluation of operational and safety risks.
  • Manage processes for appropriate readings and log record keeping.
  • Provide support and leadership during the commissioning process.
  • Inform stakeholders of commissioning activities.
  • Participate in daily planning and forecasting for thermal energy production.
  • Ensure all water treatment activities meet standards.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Able to pass required security clearance.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a CHCP environment.
  • Valid (TSSA Certified) 1st or 2nd Class Stationary Engineering certifications.
  • Previous experience in industrial plant operations (energy sector).
  • Proven team leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiar with government and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS technologies.
  • Ability to ensure safe and efficient operations in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID diagrams and understand control logic.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team and coordinate with contractors.
