Job description

The School of Environmental Sciences (SES) at the University of Guelph (UoG) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in apiculture/honey bee biology. The candidate is expected to develop a robust, innovative, externally funded research program (both basic and applied) within the field of apiculture. Research collaborations with other faculty members within the UoG and elsewhere are also expected, as well as outreach and engagement with relevant stakeholders in Ontario, such as the beekeeping industry and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.

The candidate will teach courses that consider both the expertise of the new faculty member and the needs of the School of Environmental Sciences (SES). This would include the undergraduate course Apiculture and Honey Bee Biology (ENVS2210), an additional undergraduate-level course, as well as one graduate course. Supervision, mentoring and training of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as other highly qualified personnel, is expected.

The successful candidate will also participate in committees within the SES and at the college and University levels.
