Assistant Material Data Collector

Public Works – Operations Support

1 Short Term Contract Part Time Position, duration: 12 months

Compensation: $25.57 - $31.96/hr

Work Mode and Location: onsite at 2 Copper Road, Brampton and various road construction sites located within Peel Region.
Hours of Work: no guarantee of hours of work - up to 35 hours per week: Monday to Friday - evening, overnight and weekend work may be required.

Reporting to the Foreperson of Construction Inspections and under the direction and guidance of the Construction Inspector, you will receive, compile and tabulate all material delivery weigh ticket data for capital road construction, reconstruction and resurfacing projects including landfill sites located within Peel Region.

What you will do in this role:

  • Gather and tabulate weigh ticket data at various capital road construction, reconstruction and resurfacing projects within the Peel Region including landfill sites.
  • Note discrepancies and report to the Construction Inspector in charge.
  • Perform work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regional Safety Procedures and all other relevant legislation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What the role requires:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workloads.
  • Daily access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Possess a valid “G” driver’s licence and daily access to a vehicle with appropriate vehicular insurance coverage.
