Assistant Manager, International Expansion | Private Client Corporate Services (Bookkeeping)
Job Location: 1 King St West, Suite 1201, Toronto, Ontario. Timings: Day - 9:00am to 5:30pm (Changes during busy times) Education: College diploma
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review full cycle bookkeeping, maintaining various accounts using computerized bookkeeping systems.
Ensure accuracy on recorded and categorized financial transactions.
Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations and other technical documentation.
Prepare bank payments through client's bank software.
Review investment accounting and ensure accuracy and reconciliation to year-end financial documents.
Prepare sales tax returns and file through CRA or PST portals.
Prepare financial statements for corporate compliance filings.
Communicate with CRA on various occasions and pull documents from CRA Online for junior staff.
Communicate with clients and/or investment brokers for bookkeeping documents and answer any inquiries.
Train junior staff and help them to understand and maintain their workload.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business;
5-7+ years prior bookkeeping experience.
Access to CRA Online account, with RepID.
Working knowledge of business software applications such as Word, Excel, QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Xero, Hubdoc, and Dext.
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and the ability to apply concepts, theories, and terminology to complete daily tasks with accuracy.
Technical bookkeeping skills to record transactions in multiple currencies across numerous entities.
Exceptional attention to detail to record and interpret financial data accurately and produce reliable reporting.
Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
Highly motivated, self-starter with demonstrated independence and initiative.
Ability to be flexible regarding workload demands and prioritize multiple tasks as required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
Openness to receive and offer constructive feedback to build a cohesive team.
Superior organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to work outside regular hours to meet workload demands and/or deadlines.
Hybrid position: requires in-office attendance at least 2 days a week.
