The Role

As a key member of our team, the Assistant Horticulturist is responsible for maintaining world-class ornamental and natural displays on the golf course and resort property. This includes mulching, weeding, spot spraying, watering, pruning, planting, and fertilizing, as well as creating and following a pest management program. They will also maintain, monitor, and protect streamside enhancement areas throughout the golf course. The Assistant Horticulturist will report to the Horticulturist and possess the leadership skills necessary in supervising multiple Landscape Gardeners.

Your contributions to the team include:

1. Train seasonal employees on mulching, weeding, spot spraying, watering, pruning, planting, and fertilizing.
2. Maintain the indoor live wall.
3. Maintain garden beds to prestige conditions always keeping a weed-free appearance.
4. Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of our protected streamside enhancement areas throughout the golf course.
5. Provide ongoing feedback to the Horticulturist on all plant health issues and team member performances.
6. Ability to perform other duties as directed or required, including golf maintenance activities.
7. Occasionally assist in turf maintenance practices as needed.
8. Additional tasks and duties as assigned.

A few things we are looking for in a new team member:

1. Diploma or equivalent in Horticulture or related field.
