Assistant Designer -Pet Apparel

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to join their Pet Apparel division. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Senior Designer in the research and development of seasonal collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in apparel design and be passionate about creating stylish and functional pet apparel.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development of seasonal collections, supporting research and design initiatives.
2. Create black & white and colour sketches to visualize design concepts.
3. Develop presentation boards and line sheets to showcase design ideas.
4. Produce technical sketches and tech packs, ensuring all necessary details are included for production.
5. Compile and prepare design packages for overseas production teams.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain design integrity and execution.
7. Maintain an understanding of current fashion trends and how they translate to pet apparel.

Qualifications:

1. 1-2 years of experience in the apparel industry, preferably in technical design.
2. Strong artistic and creative ability to interpret design concepts from sketches.
3. Proficiency in creating technical diagrams and tech packs.
4. Excellent understanding of grading and garment construction.
5. Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities while adhering to deadlines.
6. Solid technical knowledge of placement print and all-over print (AOP) techniques.
7. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required.
