Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line (Pape North Connect)

Reports to: Construction Project Manager

The Assistant Construction Project Manager key responsibilities are:

Collaborate closely with the Construction Project Manager to ensure seamless operations and alignment with project goals and objectives.

Oversee project execution, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to high-quality standards in all layout tasks.

Lead and facilitate meetings by preparing comprehensive agendas, delivering engaging presentations, and documenting minutes to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.

Play a key role in coordinating with team members to create and deliver monthly reports for clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely and transparent communication of project progress.

Provide comprehensive technical guidance by interpreting plans, specifications, and detail sheets, enabling contractors to execute engineering plans effectively.

Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules to keep projects on track and proactively identify potential challenges.

Generate accurate labor cost reports through meticulous tracking of quantities and expenditures to manage project budgets effectively.

Develop the scope of work of procurement processes, placing orders for materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely delivery that supports project timelines.

Coordinate third-party inspections to verify compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements.

Maintain detailed daily reports documenting work progress and any relevant information to track project status.

Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process, ensuring timely resolution of queries and clarifications to facilitate smooth project execution.

Ensure all construction activities adhere to engineering standards, codes, and specifications, upholding the integrity of the project design.

Actively participate in health and safety programs to promote a secure working environment for all project personnel.

Contribute to quality assurance initiatives by engaging in quality programs and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.

Provide on-site support during construction phases, conducting site visits, and addressing technical issues as they arise.

Prepare and manage comprehensive contract documents and drawings to effectively guide construction activities.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Engineering / Engineering Technologist / Construction Technology Diploma, Degree, or Post-grad Certificate required.

Minimum 5-8 years of construction experience; multi-disciplinary, large-scale projects would be an asset.

Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents

Sound computer skills – MS Excel / Lotus, MS Word, MS Project, AutoCAD

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with good organizational skills

Ability to work accurately under pressure.

Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.

Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience involves utility diversions till the final construction of civil works (pilling, slabs, Walls, MEP coordination).

Ability to coordinate construction activities related to roads, grading, pavement, landscaping, drainage, traffic, and any utility work related to roadways and railway projects.

Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, project engineering, and project planning, encompassing the meticulous handling of scope, schedule, cost, and quality aspects.
