The City of Victoria is looking for a detail-oriented Asset Systems Coordinator to join our Asset Management Team. In this role, you’ll work with asset owning groups at the City of Victoria to support the implementation and maintenance of our asset inventory and maintenance management software.
Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-motivator with a strong GIS background, who strives to solve problems and connect with staff at all levels of the organization. In this position, you will act as a strong and effective communicator with internal stakeholders and provide valuable cross-departmental training and support. POSITION FUNCTION
Coordinate and participate in the ongoing maintenance, continued enhancement, and upgrades of the City’s asset management systems.
KEY DUTIES
INDEPENDENCE
Work is generated by annual objectives, system requirements and requests for service or as assigned by supervisor. Work is reviewed upon completion. Problems such as deviation from established procedures are referred to supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort: Sit with arms unsupported while keyboarding. (often)
Mental Effort: Long periods of intense concentration while dealing with computer files. (frequent)
Visual/Auditory Effort: Focus on a variety of small print or details and computers for long periods. (frequent)
Work Environment: Office.
KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification: Technical School diploma including advanced courses in database management, asset management, and/or GIS. (2 years)
Experience: 4 years of related experience with asset management systems, mapping and GIS or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER: May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
