The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the Operation Standards Branch for a one-year term position located in Saskatoon, Regina, or Prince Albert. The Asset Management Engineer will be part of the Asset Management team that serves a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, Ministry staff, consultants, other government agencies, and members of the public.
As the Asset Management Engineer, you will conduct the following duties relating to roadway preservation and maintenance, standards development, data management, data quality control, and asset management:
As the Asset Management Engineer, you will support and act on behalf of your Director at internal and external stakeholder meetings to determine provincial interests on long-term infrastructure goals and objectives including the asset management plan, asset management strategies, and industry best practices. You will also complete inquiries and studies to effectively manage the overall health of the provincial highway network in Saskatchewan.
The Asset Management Engineer will apply professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, and standards used in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the provincial highways to ensure effective preservation of the Ministry’s assets and develop preservation programs using best practices and asset management principles. Knowledge of computer programming will be considered an asset.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a degree in Engineering (civil preferred) from an accredited university and have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate must be registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
