Asset Integrity Tech

Tourmaline Oil Corp. is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and supportive team player for the role of Asset Integrity Tech. This position will be based out of the Fort St. John office supporting the Tourmaline North East British Columbia (NEBC) Area. This is a full-time permanent position.

The Tourmaline Asset Integrity Team is responsible for verifying and enhancing the safety of pressure equipment and pipelines throughout its entire life cycle. Our team implements inspection plans, monitors equipment for integrity, and maintains inspection records. The Asset Integrity personnel also act as a technical resource and provide support in many different areas of the business.

Tourmaline is searching for both Pressure Equipment and Pipeline focused individuals with the expertise and willingness to support one or both areas depending on the candidate.

Accountabilities:

• Ensure all requirements of Tourmaline's Asset Management Program and the Regulations are met.
• Ensure all requirements of Tourmaline's Pipeline Integrity Management System and the Regulations are met.
• Work closely with the Operations, Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance teams to maintain a high standard of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This also includes some awareness training to these groups.
• Act as a technical resource to Area Engineers on codes and standards and provide guidance as required.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues.
• Develop and implement long-term preventative and predictive inspection plans for pressure equipment, pipelines, piping, safety valves, and storage tanks.
• Prepare NDE scope of work, coordinate, and supervise inspection contractors.
• Perform occasional in-service inspections to confirm the integrity of equipment repairs, modifications, and new construction.
• Field and facility turnaround inspection planning and coordination.
• Support inspection record keeping and integrity.
• Review and monitor MOC’s and NCR’s.
• Participate in continual improvement of the TOU programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge and experience with safe work practices related to oil and gas production.
• Energetic and self-motivated team player.
• A high level of honesty and integrity coupled with ambition and drive.
• Knowledge of corrosion inspection such as NDE, mitigation techniques, deterioration mechanisms, materials & coatings selection, failure analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CMMS systems.
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certification and/or AMPP Internal Corrosion Technologist Designation or equivalent.

Advantageous Qualifications:

• Field experience.
• Technical understanding of pipe fabrication specifications and codes of construction.
• Strong Knowledge of Oil and Gas Processes.
• Engineering Degree / Diploma.
• ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel & Pressure Piping Inspector Certification.
• API 570 Piping Inspector Certification.
• API 653 Tank Inspection Certification.
• API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector.
• CWB Welding Inspector Certification.
• NACE Certifications.

Experience:

• Preferred Experience: Management of a Pressure Equipment Integrity or Pipeline Integrity Program for an Owner User.
• Minimum Experience: 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry which may include design, fabrication, examination, operation, or inspection of industrial piping or pressure vessels.
