Job Summary

Ascendent Technology Group is seeking a highly skilled Assembly and Testing Supervisor to lead and actively participate in the production of EO/IR Military systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electro-optical systems, mechanical design using Fusion 360, military surveillance systems, and wiring and soldering of PCB and low gauge cables. The candidate must also be able to lead a team and oversee the general process of multiple builds, ensuring timelines and quality control are being upheld. This person must be able to teach their team the needed skills and be a good communicator, and must be able to have flexible hours for working overnights and overtime when required. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability for military applications.

The Ideal candidate must have experience and be able to excel in the following:

  1. Lead, supervise, and train a team of qualified technicians. Assign tasks to team members and ensure effective workflow and meeting timelines.
  2. Have experience in alignment of precision electro-optical systems, including multi-sensor systems that are boar sighted and mechanically aligned.
  3. Synchronization and adjusting of parameters for continuous zoom optics and optical lasers.
  4. Synchronization of FOVs of different systems such as thermal, visible, and laser illuminators to ensure FOV of cameras and illumination match each other throughout their focal length.
  5. Adhering and affixing specialized windows (BK7, GE, Silicone) on military enclosures while maintaining required IP rating.
  6. Configuring and tuning image settings for EO/IR systems and video engines to ensure proper image acquisition, IP encoding, and image settings.
  7. Advanced wiring and assembly abilities, micro soldering in intricate locations, and testing and validation for multi-sensor PTZ camera systems to multiple enclosures with and without slip rings.
  8. Integration and installation and adjustment of wipers and washers on Visible-NIR lenses and enclosures with the ability to 3D print and adjust stop limits for customized sweep patterns.
  9. Installing and soldering proprietary military connectors to maintain IP66 sealing as well as electrical and video signals and troubleshoot and eliminate noise affecting serial and video signals.
  10. Assembling rugged military-grade enclosures that involve custom sealing O-rings to maintain operation in extreme environments like -60 to +60 and rugged weather environments.
  11. Ability to integrate and optimize heating and cooling systems for power and temperature regulation and 3D printing and design for custom air channels to heat and cool components for optimal performance based on the requirements.

The candidate applying for this job MUST have experience in building and fixing complex custom Electro-Optical Video Surveillance systems. This includes working with MWIR & LWIR thermal infrared imaging, Infrared laser illumination, HD long-range visible and NIR imaging. Sales or other roles that demonstrate good communication are ideal but not expressly required.
