Key Responsibilities

• Take part in on-site training and perform assays in conformance to Gibraltar Analytical Assaying safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure all grab assays are reported in a timely manner on receipt of samples.
• Ensure compliance with the Mines Act and applicable permits, regulations, and company policies in the execution of assigned duties.
• Assist in developing and implementing the company policies and procedures related to Metallurgical Engineering.
• Work on a shift rotation (4 on/5 off, 5 on/4 off), with the ability to work relief coverage.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of chemical analytical processes.
• Detailed knowledge of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and Titrimetric analysis.
• Knowledge of safe work laboratory best practices.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial/production lab performing base metal analyses.

Education

• Completion of either a Bachelor of Science degree or technical diploma in a chemistry-related field.
