Key Responsibilities
Take part in on-site training and perform assays in conformance to Gibraltar Analytical Assaying safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
Ensure all grab assays are reported in a timely manner on receipt of samples.
Ensure compliance with the Mines Act and applicable permits, regulations, and company policies in the execution of assigned duties.
Assist in developing and implementing the company policies and procedures related to Metallurgical Engineering.
Work on a shift rotation (4 on/5 off, 5 on/4 off), with the ability to work relief coverage.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of chemical analytical processes.
Detailed knowledge of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and Titrimetric analysis.
Knowledge of safe work laboratory best practices.
Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial/production lab performing base metal analyses.
Education
Completion of either a Bachelor of Science degree or technical diploma in a chemistry-related field.
