Job description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as a developer with a diverse, multidisciplinary, passionate and globally distributed research team. You'll make it possible for our users to access cutting-edge AI-powered technologies, enabling them to achieve things they've never been able to achieve before.

Location: Saguenay (Québec) or Home Office (Canada or Worldwide)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, train, refine and deploy multimodal large-scale language models (LLMs) using the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) approach.
  • Develop an LLM agent framework to orchestrate RAG applications.
  • Apply instruction tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and efficient fine-tuning.
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of AI models, and conduct analyses to detect and correct biases.
  • Drive the collection, construction and annotation of specialized datasets, training LLMs for different tasks and applications.
  • Promote the improvement of product quality, safety and performance.
  • Recognize obstacles to your team’s efficiency and propose and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with various product development and management teams on new features and innovative enhancements.

Your Profile:

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent programming skills in Python with a solid grounding in programming, optimizations and software design.
  • Solid understanding of ML/DL techniques, algorithms and tools, particularly CNNs, RNNs (LSTMs) and Transformers (BERT, BART, GPT/T5, LLMs).
  • Experience in the development of conversational AI: natural language understanding, natural language generation, dialogue systems, machine translation, etc.
  • Experience with training BERT and GPT models, with fluency in PyTorch and NLP techniques.
  • Practical experience with information retrieval frameworks such as LlamaIndex, LangChain, FAISS, Haystack, etc.
  • Practical skills with MLOps Frameworks such as KubeFlow, MLFlow or AirFlow.
  • Ability to work in a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Keep abreast of recent advances in artificial intelligence.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in machine learning, artificial intelligence or a related field.
