Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited post-secondary Architectural Technologist program and/or Professional diploma or degree in Architecture.
- Demonstrated technical and design knowledge with a proven track record of managing projects.
- History of excellent client and consultant management.
- Ability to make high level decisions throughout the duration of the project.
- Minimum 5 years experience in architectural firms, with minimum 3 years local Canadian experience.
- Experience with residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
- High level of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Proficiency in Autodesk, Revit, and BIM Software.
- Experience with Sketch-Up, AutoCAD, Bluebeam REVU and MS Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of BC Building Code, project design processes, programming, planning, detailing specifications, building systems, building envelope and coordination.
- Experience with a variety of construction systems including wood frame, concrete, and steel.
Responsibilities:
- Quality management – review drawings within the office that are not directly in projects team scope, provide mark-up and suggestions at a high level.
- Review and apply standards throughout projects outside of project team scope.
- Review and ensure project teams are delivering to set schedules.
- Manage and lead a project with minimal supervision through various permit submissions and/or construction.
- Prepare design presentations for client approval. These presentations will contain a mix of drawings and 3D renderings.
- Prepare technical drawings for design development, building permit application and construction drawings.
- Coordinate consultant teams and liaison with client and consultant groups.
- General contract administration duties including site meetings, shop drawing distribution and site review reports.
