is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

Description of Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer to be based remotely in the province of Québec.

SRK is looking to expand our emerging presence in Quebec, with the opportunity to work remotely and/or within established SRK offices. As a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join one of the largest and most experienced mining teams globally, with a diverse cross-section of geologists and engineers.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and focused consulting advice on mining projects for North American and international clients. The work will typically include contribution to technical studies, due diligence, operational assistance, and project management. As a Mining Engineer, this position also includes the expectation to develop and maintain a client network in collaboration with the Ontario mining team. There will be an opportunity and expectation to continuously develop your technical skills and industry knowledge to further assist the SRK Ontario team, with offices in Sudbury and Toronto.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or related field;
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in mining engineering, in operations and/or consulting;
  • A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written French and English is necessary for this position;
  • Advanced level of technical skills in mining engineering;
  • Proficient in mine planning and optimization software tools, preferably Deswik;
  • Sufficient knowledge of the main aspects of mineral projects to enable identification of study risks and opportunities;
  • Demonstrated project management skills;
  • Advanced level of interpersonal and collaboration skills;
  • High level of effective communication and leadership qualities while working in a team environment;
  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships, with a preference for existing relationships within the Québec mining industry;
  • Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy requirements for National Instrument 43-101 and/or other international reporting codes.

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects both nationally and overseas; domestic and international travel may form a significant part of the role.
