We are growing our team and are currently seeking an AIBC Registered Architect.
As an Architect, you will play a key role in supporting the design and execution of architectural projects within our firm. You will work closely with senior-level architectural staff and principals, contributing to various projects as a valuable team member. You will be responsible for exercising independent judgment in evaluating and adapting standard techniques and procedures, developing design solutions, and solving project-related issues. You will also mentor more junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Team Leadership and independently determine procedures for all phases of design and document production.
- Prepare and supervise the preparation of architectural plans and renderings.
- Consult with manufacturers and evaluate and select materials.
- Develop design and technical solutions for specific project areas and ensure design integrity through Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Phases.
- Supervise less experienced staff members to effectively utilize their efforts on projects.
- Present solutions internally and to external stakeholders as required.
- Establish productive working relationships with team members, consultants, and government agencies.
- Coordinate design intent and documents with consultants.
- Research and demonstrate knowledge of building systems, materials, and technologies, showing initiative in exploring alternative systems and materials.
- Develop project specifications and review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for technical and design intent compliance.
- Contribute to the effective performance of the project relative to quality goals, production schedule, and production budget.
- Provide positive design leadership to project teams and the office.
- Contribute to the overall professional development of other project team members.
Qualifications:
- Registered as an Architect with AIBC.
- Fully competent architect in all conventional aspects of architecture.
- Broad knowledge of architectural design and planning, with the ability to develop site and building concepts into detailed design solutions.
- Ability to perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Sufficient ability with design tools and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to manage design, production, and documentation phases of a project.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of the architectural and engineering components of a building and their relationship within a building system.
- Strong verbal, written, graphic, and drafting skills necessary to communicate concepts and solutions to team members, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Organizational, leadership, technical, and design ability to participate significantly in the development of Schematic Design documents, Design Development, and Contract Documents, and follow through during Construction Administration.
- Knowledge of building, planning, and zoning codes as they relate to the project and its design.
