Arborist Labourer

JOB SUMMARY : An Arborist Labourer is responsible for assisting the crew with site maintenance and clean-up in addition to operating and maintaining maintenance equipment. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Work locations are Vermillion, Stettler, and Oyen.

Responsibilities :

1. Committed to working safely (fit for work), supporting a positive and productive team environment.
2. Capable of performing physically demanding manual labour in all weather conditions.
3. Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a woodchipper.
4. Performs site set-up and take down including unloading and loading equipment; setting up barriers/warning flags; and keeping the site picked up and orderly.
5. Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements :

1. A High School Diploma or higher.
2. Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; air brakes endorsement a plus.
3. Ability to work as a crew member in a physically demanding environment.
4. Motivated to work both independently and as a team member with good time management.
5. Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
6. Working around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchipper; must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, storm work) and will be subject to call-out work.
8. Must have valid First-Aid and CPR certificates.
