Job description

Education:

  • Other trades certificate or diploma

Experience:

  • Experience an asset

Languages:

  • Hindi
  • Chinese
  • Tagalog

Work Setting:

  • Work in employer's/client's home

Tasks:

  • Administer bedside and personal care
  • Administer medications
  • Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
  • Provide companionship

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:

  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Experience with persons with Alzheimer's disease
  • Experience with adolescents, adults, convalescent, elderly, females, and persons with disabilities
  • Experience with persons with mental health disabilities
  • Experience with terminally ill individuals

Experience with Special Needs Children:

  • Assistance with mobility

Security and Safety:

  • Criminal record check
  • References required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Walking
  • Ability to lift weights between 45 and 100 kg (100-220 lbs)
