Boeing Jeppesen is seeking an Application Support Specialist reporting to the Manager of Crew Support working out of the Montreal office.

The Application Support Specialist will work within the global IT Service Management team which consists of service managers, system experts, and service account managers, operating from multiple locations including Gothenburg, Montreal, and Singapore.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support crew resource management software targeted to the transportation sector.
  • Review, analyze, and modify highly-customized installations, including developing, testing, and debugging.
  • Troubleshoot our world-leading software solutions over the phone and perform upgrades to new releases.
  • Assist our customer's developers in the resolution of incidents.
  • Make modifications or updates to existing software applications.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of systems remotely or on-site, quickly respond to problems, interact with customers, understand client processes, and relay issues back to the development team.
  • Develop and test documentation which describes the specific software functionality.
  • Ensure systems conform with architectural objectives.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in information technology or software technical support.
  • 7+ years of experience effectively working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with programming languages, e.g., Python or similar.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience within airline operations or aerospace industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in global organization(s).
  • Familiar with the Crew & Ops portfolio and products.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
