Application Engineer (Vancouver)

Our client, a leading manufacturer of CNC heavy industrial machinery, is seeking an Applications Engineer to join their Vancouver team.
Your primary responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support in person or over the phone for customers, sales, and trade shows for CNC Machines.
2. Complete time studies, test cuts, and machine demonstrations as per customer requirements.
3. Design and fabricate fixtures/work holding to facilitate the test cutting process.
4. Define and troubleshoot manufacturing/machining processes.
5. Perform application engineering work independently and set priorities with knowledge of company goals.

To succeed in this challenging and exciting position, you possess the following experience and education:

1. BS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred, and/or machining knowledge.
2. 3-5 years related experience.
3. Strong written/verbal communication skills.
4. Knowledge in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup.
5. Intermediate understanding of Metallurgy.
6. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
7. Able to professionally communicate with varying levels of internal technical staff, external customers, and external suppliers.
