Salary: $82,218 to $95,148

  • Gather and synthesize strategic information.
  • Analyze trends and environmental issues.
  • Research new and novel policy topics to support Indigenous rights and reconciliation.
  • Provide strategic advice.
  • Engage with colleagues and partners to build consensus on key issues.
  • Represent our department and our region on working groups, committees and in work with our partners.

Work environment

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Regional Director General’s Office is looking for talented individuals with expertise in research, analysis, policy development and intergovernmental relations to work on important issues affecting the environment. We are looking for team members who:

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process (anticipatory) is to fill different vacant positions. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates could be created and used to staff the same or similar positions with varying tenure of employment (indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment, acting), various security clearance levels and various linguistic profiles within the Public Service of Canada.

Essential Qualifications

  • EDUCATION: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
  • EXPERIENCE: Experience conducting research and preparing written analysis on issues, policies, strategies or programs. Experience working on projects with multidisciplinary teams with diverse perspectives and objectives.

Language Requirements

Various language requirements: Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, English or French Essential, English Essential.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of environmental issues, stakeholders and challenges specific to the respective region.
  • ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • PERSONAL SUITABILITY: Judgment, demonstrating integrity and respect, working effectively with others.

Conditions of Employment

Secret OR Reliability security clearance.
