Animator

Mid Animator (2-month Contract)

The Role:

Working in close collaboration with the Production Staff, the Mid Animator will create top-notch animations and bring creatures, characters, objects, and vehicles to life according to the project vision outlined by the Lead and/or Supervisor.

Requirements

1. Working with the Production Staff to provide animated sequences that align with the Client's vision and the project brief as outlined by the Lead and/or Supervisor
2. Ability to animate in various styles (creatures, realistic humans, motion capture, vehicles, complex characters, objects, cameras, etc.) as required on assigned project(s)
3. Sufficient capability in Mocap cleanup and 3D rotomation for FX
4. Proficiency with animation software (Maya) for visual effects-intensive projects
5. Other miscellaneous duties as required from time to time by the Animation and CG Supervisor

Your Track Record:

1. 3 years of professional experience in VFX and Animation for Films and TV
2. Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles for Hard Surface and Character Animation.
3. Strong knowledge of animation rigging/set-up and 3D character animation
4. Expert knowledge of Maya
5. Strong understanding of scene layout to match plates
6. Excellent artistic skill set with a full understanding of animation and a strong sense of composition
7. Knowledge of the software and hardware used in the post-production process
8. Demonstrate an understanding of the Visual Effects and associated pipelines
9. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
10. Proactive, with the ability to lead a creative vision
11. Work should demonstrate the ability to define character, create fluid motion, organic movement, and storytelling
12. Ability to work overtime/weekends when a project calls for it
13. Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
