Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Planning, the Senior Analyst, Commercial Planning acts as a senior business partner to the Sales and Finance organizations to ensure teams have advanced analytics and insights pertaining to business and customer performance, the competitive landscape, industry trends and financial planning. This role supports the retail and institutional markets of our wholesale business nationally. The Senior Analyst, Commercial Planning is required to meet with leaders of the Sales and Finance teams and interpret sales analytics, reporting, results, and trends, and transform it into meaningful insights that enable the success of our internal and external customers. The Senior Analyst, Commercial Planning will design, develop, execute, distribute and present sales reports and complex scorecards from various data sources both internal and external to McKesson as well as work extensively on sales planning and forecasting by customer group for the business and execute other related advanced analytics activities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Creates the long-range plan, and forecasting of sales with internal customer teams, sales, and finance executives.
- Prepares the sales performance insights and customer analytics, forecast and budget analysis to senior leadership in Sales and Finance organizations.
- Analyzes sales trends and provides risks & opportunities to the business.
- Designs, develops, and publishes key performance indicators in Power BI, Think-Cell, and Excel to various internal stakeholders.
- Closely collaborates and communicates with Finance (FP&A, Accounting, Corporate, SOX) teams to promote alignment and partnership.
- Develops and delivers regular intelligence, updates and dashboards that identify significant changes, opportunities, and mitigating recommendations for the Sales team.
- Develops and maintains internal and external networks to support knowledge gathering and sustainable sharing of best practices in descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics across the Sales organization.
- Influences and inspires change through the delivery of insights (trends, internal and external insights, business context, legislative changes) in a simple and compelling manner with internal customers.
- Leads any reporting/dashboard requirements (recurring or adhoc) and opportunities for improvements; works collaboratively with key internal stakeholders.
- Recommends creation and adoption of new tools for advanced analytics in line with the customer and business needs.
- Identifies and reviews opportunities for continuous improvement with the manager; makes recommendations and implements solutions.
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in relevant discipline.
Working Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a business analyst in a financial planning, business intelligence, market analysis, strategy, consulting, or similar role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare industry business and/or experience with IQVIA data sets are a definite asset.
- Experience with data analytics and database/systems management.
