Fidelity Wealth is a new wealth management service, designed to support financial advisors with their succession planning and transition to retirement. What We Do

The Analyst, Wealth Investment Research, is responsible for contributing to the creation, management, and tracking of our open architecture list of mutual funds, ETFs, SMA’s and other securities on our approved shelf. This position also plays an important role in the ongoing oversight of our discretionary Managed Portfolios, including performance evaluation, risk monitoring, and regular analysis and reporting.

The successful candidate will join our team of subject matter experts who provide ongoing investment insights and guidance to our Wealth Advisors and their clients. The successful candidate will work closely with key partners on the implementation of approved securities, investment research, legal & compliance, and client facing teams to contribute to the successful growth of our wealth management business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Actively manage open architecture approved list of mutual funds, ETFs, SMA’s, Alternative Investments and other securities:

  1. Identify best in class investment solutions for inclusion on our recommended investment lists.

  2. Build, maintain and communicate approved list of mutual funds, ETFs, Offering Memorandums, and other securities permitted within client accounts.

  3. Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for our oversight committees, and/or compliance, audit, regulators, advisors, and clients.

  4. Monitor assigned investment solutions, model portfolios and recommended lists for adherence with their stated investment objective and guidelines

Undertake research and evaluate risk criteria to support investment recommendations and monitor securities / model portfolios within compliance tools

  1. Be the subject matter expert for approved securities within investment management and dealer compliance systems

  2. In a timely and accurate manner, update changes to approved securities list based on established criteria and/or research and seek appropriate sign-off from our governance committees

Build strong relationship with investment and client facing groups, educate teams on investment solutions:

  1. Provide regular communications and updates to client facing teams including relevant market commentary, investment solution updates, and thought leadership on investing and market related topics

  2. Support work with end clients through review and comparison of portfolio solutions

  3. Aid in custom portfolio design as needed

Contribute to the risk assessment of investment products and other securities to ensure appropriate risk ratings and investment objectives:

  1. In partnership with compliance and investment management, develop and maintain policy and procedures to risk assess securities.

  2. Ensure all securities have a risk rating and investment objective, use available research, reports, prospectus, offering memorandums

  3. Tracking progress across priority projects; identifying risks, and proactively managing them based on direction from management.

What You’ll Need

  3. Motivated self-starter and ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines

  4. High attention to detail including accuracy, writing, and presentation style

What We’re Looking For

  1. 2 - 5 years of relevant investment industry experience

  2. University degree in Finance or related field

  3. Demonstrated experience in wealth management, or asset management, working with any, or all of mutual funds, ETF’s, SMA’s, Alternative Assets, portfolio construction, and risk management.

  4. Experience with investment research and portfolio management tools such as Morningstar Direct, Morningstar AWS, Bloomberg, Factset, Refinitiv Workspace, CapIntel.

  5. Experience with trade execution, and/or operational implementation an asset.

  6. Experience with Insurance based investment products

  7. Progress toward, or completion of CFA designation/advanced business or financial analysis degree

  8. Canadian Securities Course: nice to have.
