Reporting to the Pricing Strategy Manager, the Pricing Strategy Analyst is responsible for both pricing analysis and execution to support the overall strategy of their assigned category. This is a hybrid role and there is an in-office requirement of 3 times a week. The offices for this role are located in Mississauga, Edmonton, Calgary, Stellarton, and Dartmouth. This is an 18-month contract.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Maintenance of regular retail pricing strategy for assigned merchandise category – including listing of latest items, executing pricing changes and all activities related to ensuring stores can sell items to customers
  • Collection, validation, and analysis of competitive retail prices to ensure Pricing and Category Management teams have the data required to make educated pricing decisions
  • Qualitative and Quantitative analysis aimed at improving financial results, processes, and overall health of the business
  • Maintenance of and review of all costing and retail documentation to ensure integrity
  • Tracking pricing across assigned categories and where required, recommending new retail prices to maintain margins or achieve index targets
  • Analysis of business intelligence or governance reports (SAP, BW, Nielsen, etc.) to identify opportunities to improve regular retail pricing
  • Run price optimization scenarios and offer suggestions to category management to maximize sales and profitability
  • Support stores by resolving pricing issues which impact stores, customers, and partners
  • Investigate pricing or audit issues which negatively impact margins and implement solutions to correct them
  • Collaborate on all pricing related initiatives with Category managers
  • Represent pricing in cross-functional projects with the aim of improving pricing processes and execution

What you have to offer:

  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a DEC and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • SAP experience or analytical aptitude to mainframe systems is preferred
  • Quantitative Analysis in Excel (Pivot Tables, Sorting, Filtering, Lookups)
